10 20 23 Cobban Bridge Final Visit
10-20-23 Today We pay a final visit to the Cobban bridge project. I started out with a video of the old bridge with its wood deck. The next video showed the bridge under construction and the last video will be the bridge in its completed condition with a drive over video. Thank you again to the famous Helper Lady for assisting in the drone spotting and for just being fun to be with. Do something nice for someone today.

10-17-23 It was time to check on the apartments that are being built on the old Shopko site. They are much bigger than I thought they were going to be. We also have a first time visit from Helper Lady. She will be the new spotter on future videos. I have ordered my remote ID to conform with the new FAA rules and will install that when it comes. Remote ID sends a signal to identify the drone fly...

03-25-23 I was able to make it back up to the new Cobban Bridge. There was no-one working on the bridge, so we can take a look around without bothering anyone. At 46 degrees with strong sunlight, I wasn't complaining. It is always nice to get out as the temperatures start rising. After completing the video, I thought it might have been neat to get some of the video I have of the old bridge, and...

03-20-23 Well, it finally happened. They are tearing down the old Shopko store. The plan is to replace it with apartments. The area has changed quite a bit. They tore down Oleary's Pub and Mancinas Restaurant and made the Howard Johnson Hotel into apartments. Shopko Optical is back in a storefront with four other businesses. Spring is in the air, but winter is not giving up without a fight. Do ...

I was hoping to see a few more leaves changing on the trees but it was still nice to get out on a beautiful 70 degree day. Do something nice for someone today.

Переглядів 6 тис.2 роки тому
08-27-21 The front tire on my 2007 Honda VTX 1300r was the original tire. After 14 years I thought it might be time to change it. I also put in a new valve stem. I have always run Dunlop D404 tires and had good luck with them. They stick to the road pretty well but the rear tire lasts between 7000 and 10000 miles, with 8000 miles the norm. This time I decided to try Micheline Commander 2 tires....

08-13-21 If the inaccurate speedometer on your Honda VTX 1300 bothers you I found a solution. A company called Heal Tech Makes a unit called Speedohealer that will correct the error in your speedometer. It is very easy to install but you do need to know how much the error is. I do not get paid by them and I bought the one I have with my own money. It can also correct your speedometer if you cha...

08-13-21 Today I am going to install a new clutch cable on my 2007 Honda VTX 1300r and adjust it. It was a pretty simple job and does not require a lot of tools. This is something I replaced because of age rather than failure. If your bike has a hydraulic clutch like you will find on a VTX 1800 this procedure will not apply to your bike. 07-22-21 Come along as I change the coolant on my 2007 Honda VTX 1300r. This is the last fluid change I had to do. I bought the bike with 5600 miles on it and am working on making a base line for maintenance because I am not sure what was done to the bike before I bought it. Although I am a weekend mechanic wannabe, I get a satisfaction doing my own work. It makes me more one with the bike when...
07 17 21 Honda VTX 1300r Brake Fluid Flush
Переглядів 3 тис.2 роки тому
Note: One error I caught in the video states that when brake fluid absorbs moisture the boiling point is raised. I meant to say the boiling point is reduced. When brake fluid reaches the boiling point you will start to lose braking because there will be vapor and liquid in your brake system. A gas is compressible and the brakes will get spongy. 07-17-21 Today I am flushing the brake fluid on my...

What a nightmare just to get at a battery, you would think the manufacturers would make it a lot easier, i had a bimota and all you did was remove 2 bolts and cover the remove another 2 bolts to remove the strap that holds down the battery and undo the battery posts and remove battery, probably less than 5 minutes.

Forget the speedo not being accurate... the fuel gauge... isn't even there. Even though the tank cap is right there, and a twisty fuel gauge could go right in it. I think I'll just go up one tire size to make the speedo more accurate if that is a problem.
